Tags
Tags are an important part of using the conlangs, from space! forum (shortened to CFS). It allows for special attributes to be attached to your topics, either for organizational purposes or displaying information about your topic.
You can find a list of all the tags here.
Important tags to remember
Language preference tags
There are three tags for language preference, primarily serving the purpose of letting others know the language they should use in your topic. These tags are required for language-specific categories.
Sometimes a language category will have special rules as to which language you can use in a “No English allowed” marked topic. For example, Toki Pona has a rule in its category-specific about page stating that Toki Pona is the only language allowed in “No English allowed” topics.
Conlang topic type
There are several tags for language-specific categories, like Toki Pona, Toaq, and Other Conlangs. You may only assign one of these tags, and it is required to have a conlang topic type tag in language-specific categories. This is a working list, but as of writing, here are the tags and their descriptions:
- discussion — General discussion in or about the language.
- announcement — For announcing changes to the language or other important things related to the language.
- creative-work — A creative work made in or about the language.
- forum-game — Games hosted on the forum. An example of this would be a translation challenge.
- i-made-this — A creative work that the topic creator made.
- media — Miscellaneous media in or about the language.
- need-help – Questions about the language that can be answered by the community.
- resource — Informational or educational resources for the language.
- technical — Discussion about complex topics or the inner workings of a language. Especially useful for logical languages (“loglangs”).
- script — Script or orthography creation and discussion.
- development — Development or work that is being made on the language.
