In Which the Kaethonry Actually Introduces Itself for Once

Hallu! (Hello)

I am typically known as Kaethonry /kaɪ̯ˈθɔːnɹi/. I am genderqueer-male or epicene-masculine. I have been interested in conlangs for many years and been making them, (perhaps) oddly, for longer than that. I have some idiosyncrasies in my spellings and word usage that may eventually show themselves. I consider myself to be odd and I like my languages to be reflective of that, though ultimately I follow the will of that particular language. I have a Neocities website (kaethonry.neocities.org) that is not as developed as I'd like.

Conlangs I have made to some degree so far:

  • Cosmoglottan (aUI if it were syllable-based instead of each phoneme being a morpheme by themselves, with influence from Toki Pona and Esperanto. Has a rather strange morphosyntactic alignment that I call "jester alignment" and a pegative case.)
  • Geoglottic (Verbless language with several cases)
  • Oneiroglossic (Language with mainly transitive-intransitive morphosyntactic alignment with elements of direct-inverse and tripartite alignments mixed in, also it has a pegative case)
  • Comglot ("Auxlangiform" language, I have no intent of promoting it as an auxlang but it is designed with auxlang standards. Flexible, has ß for some reason, looks like one of those clearly Latin-based more naturalistic auxlangs from the late 19th or early 20th centuries)
  • Poftan (Flexible example language made for explaining morphosyntactic alignments)
  • Somneirial (Language designed to look like a mysterious herbal manuscript through writing the grammar as unusual plants, in addition to a syllabary based on Kurrentschrift. Also a fictlang, but still a conlang in-Universe, made for religious reasons by an angelic cult. Made for Cursed Conlang Circus 4, but I did not finish the video for it in time.)

I'd also like to make a Loglang at some point.

As far as conlangs that are not mine, I am rather fond of engelangs and auxlangs—Artlangs and especially fictlangs tend to not catch my eye as much. I am very fond of Volapük in particular and have made a little bit of progress in learning it, though not consistently. I also love old quirky obscure auxlangs such as Hómapar (a language very blatantly made by an ex-Volapükist who thought that his Volapük school failed due to Volapük being too ugly. It is also a language that feels very much like it would rather be an artlang than an auxlang but didn't know that was an option). I'd like to learn Lojban at some point, but haven't found the motivation for it.

I am also learning a couple of natural languages, German and French. I am learning these mainly because a lot of old auxlangs were written about in these languages (and also in English, but I got that language for free, in spite of my efforts to become a nullilingual speaker as a toddler), because that is what motivates me enough to learn a language, apparently—It's not like I have much other purpose for them.

Finally, I would consider myself plural. There is a prominent other self known as Poli or Ana who may or may not post here. He originally came up with Somneirial and is its co-creator. He is learning Esperanto (and also Spanish now, apparently) and interested in Ithkuil and maybe Viossa. He also has some potential interest in picking up Toki Pona, which I learnt but never got to what I'd call fluent.
