There was a similar discussion in tokpona gugde, so I was curious: How do people feel about listing they’re Lojban pronouns outside of Lojban speaking context ? I know I generally list my pronouns as she/her or zy. where requested because I enjoy having non-gendered pronouns (unfortunately, she/her pronouns can come with baggage, that I appreciate being free from).
However, when speaking Lojban itself, there’s no need to need to list your pronouns: They’re derived from your name. It’s purely relevant there to signal other Lojbanists. That said, unlike languages with a single third person animate pronoun like Toki Pona and Toaq, someone’s Lojban pronouns may not be obvious from a name in a non-Lojban language, so listing them is not completely trivial.
Regardless, the conversation seems different in this community, so I was curious about others’ thoughts.
