my involvement in conlanging/linguistics
I first became interested in constructed languages and linguistics after discovering Lojban through the Tom Scott video on ambiguity. I found Lojban extremely interesting and really wanted to learn it. This was a few years before I eventually learned Toki Pona and then Lojban.
I have occasionally tried to study some other languages, such as French, Spanish, German, Esperanto and Na’vi, but unsuccessfully. Of those, I most want to retry German as it’s the natural language that I’d like to learn the most. The conlang I’m most interested in learning next is probably Eberban, as its design is super elegant and very exotic at the same time.
On discord I’m mainly active in roljbogu’e but I’m in a lot of constructed language discords, particularly those for logical languages, which are my favourite genre of language.
Eventually I hope to make my own loglang. I started on this with a project I called Hkaltui, but I consider it to be on hold indefinitely until I feel more confident in my understanding of logic and parsing. My main goal is to make a language that gives you as many parsing clues as possible and is easy to learn and use by being super-regular and logically complete, more so than Lojban.
