Hello ! I’m a long time conlanger who focuses on loglangs on engelangs. I’m jbocre (Lojban for “Lojban Expert”), so obviously Lojban is one of my favorite languages. I’m a strong proponent of reform, and work to clarify the semantics of the language. I’m also learning Toaq. I’m also fairly experienced with loglanging in general, and most of my conlangs are loglangs in one way or another. I particularly like developing scripts. I also speak French, and a little German.
Current conlangs:
-
Bawkalm
- Bawkalm was born of my thoughts of how I would reform Lojban if I were unconstrained by its existing lexicon and morphology, but continued to diverge. However, one can still see its roots.
- It has a relatively free word order where the determiners mark the case.
- It tries to minimize grammatical constructs and prefer predicates where possible.
- Uses a powerful, case based chaining system. Chaining is subordination.
- The underlying logic is fairly exposed; it is not a naturalistic language.
-
Exyan
- My first conlang, it has gone through 4 revisions. ‘4’ is a lucky number in Exyan culture, so this must be the final version, right ?
- Uses pure Neo-Davidsonian semantics. There are no verbs; just nouns and adpositions.
- It has an odd grammar based on a 3 x 2 grid of 2 x 2 grids where each item has a consonant and a rime.
- Each sub grid represents a grammatical category
- The SSM is built on matching the same sub-position in the 2x2 grid
-
K’el tey Kewx
- Artlang inspired by Mayan including many features like:
- A similar phonology with ejectives and including
tl
for giggles - Ergative alignment, split aspects, and other goodies
- Hieroglyphic writing system
- A similar phonology with ejectives and including
- Partially created to explore the sociolinguistics of a culture with three genders and many transgender folk
- A base 30 numbering system built on parity, baskets, and an aversion to 0
- Artlang inspired by Mayan including many features like:
-
Tejvyn
- Loglan inspired by Davin !
- Uses set semantics, i.e. everything is a set.
- Absolutely tiny SOV grammar
- SSM based on voicing
I plan to use this space as a more publicly accessible place to develop my languages, so each of these will get their own thread with more detail. I also just like to see what conlangers are up to. I’ve helped others build their own conlangs and loglangs, so if you have any questions, just ask !
Outside of conlanging, I’m a programmer who likes to work in Haskell and Rust. I also like mathematics, especially Set Theory, foundations, and geometry (regular polytopes in particular). I have many pets including 6 dart frogs (phylobates vittatus and ranitomeya variablis), 2 vampire crabs (geosesarma dennerle), two jumping spiders (phidipus regius) two millipedes (narceus americanus), an western hognose snake (heterodon nasicus), and 3 ferrets (mustela furo). Also, I’m the mother of one child.
Oh, also I’m a mod, but I hope it’s rarely relevant. Please don’t make me use my mod powers for anything other than helping with routine administrative stuff.
